With the Oscars just around the corner I have chosen the dress that I’m wearing. This dreamy grey silk tulle ball gown was made in 1949 by Christian Dior and is called “Venus”. The dazzling overskirt with its seashell motif suggest a reference to Botticellis Venus. The romanticism of this gown comes from Monsieur Dior’s belief that ” fashion comes from a dream”
I’ve just woken up from mine and realized I’m not going to the Oscars!
The original gown can be found at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
