Today is a very special friends 30th birthday.
Miss Phoebe and I met 8 years ago when we both packed our bags and left our family and friends to start our new lives as glamourous flight attendants in Dubai. Well we discovered very quickly there was nothing glamourous about 2am wake up calls, 14 hour flights, jetlag, homesickness and living out of a suitcase. Along with two other dear friends, Natalie and Kate we supported each other through all the highs and lows of living the expat life in a very foreign country. We spent hours on each others couches in jetlag induced comas laughing, crying, nursing each other through sickness, breakups, makeups and all that living so far away from home threw at us.
We survived 5 years of this crazy yet wonderful experience.
We have all moved on now with each of us living in different cities all over the globe. There has been a wedding and we excitedly await the arrival of Kate's first baby in the coming months in Switzerland.
Although we don't get to see or even speak to each other everyday we have an everlasting bond.
So to my beautiful friend Phoebe I wish you the most wonderful birthday, there is no one more deserving of joy and happiness.
We were all blessed the day our paths crossed and I look forward to sharing another 30 years of friendship, laughter and happiness.
